THE FUNDAMENTAL BLOK.

This is the Fifth (and last?) volume in the Blok series, counting 1997's THE DAYS OF MIRACLES AND WONDERS as the fourth. It is still undergoing finishing touches, and should be complete soon. More news later…

CITY OF MIRRORS.

This was my attempt at a "children's book", or a "young adults" narrative, written on the theory that if I wrote a book with this kind of audience in mind, printed in large font and featuring words with few syllables, the editors at American publishing houses might be able to read it. This proved false, as a number of rejections cited it as "too literary." At the moment it lies fallow.

THE GOVERNORS SHOW.

This was a spin-off on the character of Henry G., Film School principal who appeared in London in THE LAST TRUMP OF AVRAM BLOK. I thought it was the funniest text I had ever written, but its submissions coincided with my attempts at selling THE DAYS OF MIRACLES AND WONDERS, which I considered a priority. I therefore withdrew the more minor manuscript, and it too at present lies fallow.

THE PLANET OF FUCK.

This was my first written full novel after A MOMENT OF SILENCE, written in 1978, concurrently with the science-fiction and spoof stories which I eventually gathered in YOUR MONKEY'S SHMUCK (1990). It bears some resemblance in tone to "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" type stories, and although it was written before I had even heard the original radio show of that title, people would assume it was a simulacrum. Perhaps at some future point I might engage three chimpanzees to retype it in a manner suited to the 21st century world. As narrated in YOUR MONKEY'S SHMUCK, no one would publish it, and several publishers threatened to take extreme action if I did not remove it from their premises.
