The opposition of old and new, real and unreal,
true or false, has been the fuel of this ongoing project, which has
snaked down winding alleyways and opened on to unexpected fields… Hindsight
can create patterns where before was chaos and pure chance, but the
majority of the fiction novels fit into a continuous template, mainly
the ever-never-land of Avram Blok, Jerusalem sprout, or sprite, who
wanders the world, not-quite-an-innocent abroad.
Jerusalem, the world's fantasy city, can then
be transported back and forth along the fault-lines of our latter-day
delusions and conflicts, regrown in green and pleasant lands, or feeding
the apocalyptic visions of mad seers and prophets of more than one
religion - from Kansas to Mecca and beyond.
Other titles fit more obliquely into this narrative,
a kind of history of our life and times, seen through its own distorting
mirror. And there is always more to come…
